Elaine for Congress Launches Latest Television Ad on Taylor’s Missed Votes Entitled “Skipping Out”

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – Today, the Elaine for Congress campaign rolled out their latest television ad entitled “Skipping Out,” which highlights Scott Taylor’s abysmal voting record after losing re-election.

“Sore loser Scott Taylor skipped out on almost 40% of votes in Congress after losing re-election,” said Campaign Manager Veronica Ingham. “Why would Coastal Virginians give him another chance in Congress when he didn’t even bother to show up the first time and still got paid?”

Taylor skipped crucial votes like flood insurance extension, education access, anti-human trafficking, and funding for 9/11 memorials. In her first year in Congress, Congresswoman Elaine Luria was ranked the most present for votes in the Virginia delegation, according to GovTrack, compared to Taylor who was sixth most absent in votes compared to House Freshmen in 2018.

Congresswoman Luria serves on the House Armed Services Committee where she is Vice-Chair of the Seapower and Projection Forces Subcommittee and on the House Veterans Affairs Committee where she is the Chair of the Disability and Memorial Assistance Subcommittee. Congresswoman Luria was recently named one of the most effective members of Congress by a 2019 GovTrack Report Card, passing the third most laws of any Representative in the U.S House. In 2018, Elaine Luria flipped VA-02 from a Republican incumbent and is a current Frontline incumbent.
