With the highly contagious “Omicron” variant rapidly spreading, the number of new COVID-19 cases in Virginia hit 8,756 yesterday, one of the highest (or possibly THE highest?) 1-day new COVID-19 cases numbers since the pandemic began (note: in the new COVID cases graph, below, keep in mind that the VA Department of Health hasn’t reported on the weekends for a few months, so the spike today is actually comparable to where we were at it January 2021…not in August-October 2021). So obviously, get your booster shot if you haven’t done so already, and of course wear a mask when you go to the supermarket, etc.
