SPRINGFIELD, Va. – Small business owner and mom-to-be Heidi Drauschak, a Democrat running to represent the NEW Senate District 35, today announced an impressive fundraising total of $229,743.34 in the first quarter of 2023. This early success shows that Heidi’s message of putting power back into the hands of regular people is resonating with voters in Northern Virginia.

“I am grateful for the support of the community, and I am honored that so many people believe in our campaign’s message of progressive leadership,” said Drauschak. “The new district deserves a new, bold voice and I plan to be a champion on the issues that really matter to my neighbors and the community members of SD 35. We have a lot of work to do between now and  June 20th, but we have clearly built a lot of momentum and are excited to continue sharing our message with voters.”

Drauschak’s fundraising total came from 262 total donations, which included 230 unique donors, with nearly 80 percent of contributions being $100 or less. She did not accept any money from corporations or corporate lobbyists, further demonstrating her commitment to being accountable to the people of her district.

With the funds raised in the first quarter, Drauschak’s campaign was able to make early investments in a strong field program, mobilizing volunteers across the district. So far, the campaign has already knocked on over 7,200 doors – speaking with voters in nearly every precinct of SD 35, building momentum ahead of the June 20th Democratic Primary.

“I’m excited to give birth to my first child in the next two weeks, and I am motivated to build a community – and Commonwealth that he can be proud to grow up in. Issues like reproductive rights, Paid Family and Medical Leave, and Universal Pre-K are personal to me – and I’m confident that my progressive vision will resonate with voters on June 20th.”

Heidi Drauschak is a small business owner, non-profit leader, Obama White House alumna, and soon-to-be-mom who has dedicated her career to fighting corruption in government and empowering regular people. In every capacity of her life, Heidi has always been someone who takes action – moving quickly and boldly to get the job done. You can learn more about her   campaign at www.heidiforvirginia.com
