From DPVA:
Kiggans Quietly Hosts MAGA Extremist Jim Jordan In Chesapeake One Year After Blasting Jordan For Voting For Shutdown And Saying He “Didn’t Prioritize” Her District
Kiggans on Jordan in October 2023: “He didn’t prioritize the defense industry and our military men and women of the second congressional district”
Though she has not advertised the event on her X page or advised it to press, VA-02 Republican Congresswoman Jen Kiggans will welcome MAGA extremist and close Marjorie Taylor Greene ally Jim Jordan (R-OH) to Chesapeake on Friday evening. Kiggans’ campaign appearance with Jordan comes one year after Kiggans voted against Jordan for Speaker of the House; here are some of the things she said about Jordan then:
WTKR: “‘[Jordan] didn’t prioritize the defense industry and our military men and women of the second congressional district in my opinion,’ said Kiggans.”
Richmond Times Dispatch: “Kiggans called Jordan’s bid ‘a nasty campaign’ of threats and intimidation…”
Kiggans video statement, October 17, 2023: “Mr. Jordan’s government funding plan has the potential to further cut the defense budget, which is already inadequate in my opinion. Mr. Jordan also voted against keeping the government on September 30th, and he didn’t rule out that shutting down the government wasn’t an option for the future. As the Representative of Hampton Roads, which is home to the Atlantic Fleet and the East Coast Master Jet Base, and thousands of military members and military families and veterans, that’s not a vote I’m willing to take.”
Kiggans statement, October 20, 2023: “During my multiple conversations with Congressman Jordan, he could not commit to – at a minimum – keeping our defense budget at current levels, which I believe are already inadequate. Additionally, my concerns that a government shutdown could be used for leverage were not addressed.”
“Jen Kiggans is a hypocrite who doesn’t have the political courage to stand up against extremists in her party. Time and again, Jim Jordan–a MAGA puppet–has voted for bills that harm military families, federal workers, and Virginia’s economy, as even Jen Kiggans admits. But Kiggans is campaigning with him anyway because she is afraid of losing her job,” DPVA Chairwoman Susan Swecker said.

One year ago Jen Kiggans voted against Jim Jordan for speaker, saying (see video) she couldn’t support him because his proposed defense cuts and votes for a government shutdown would hurt her district.
