• Iran Nuclear Deal Is Now Officially Underway, Putting the Country on the Clock to Make Cuts (Now we’ll start to see if all the crazed hysteria by right wingers was correct. Should be interesting.)
• Trump has figured out Jeb Bush’s greatest weakness as a candidate, and it’s not his energy level (“‘If your brother and his administration bear no responsibility at all [for the 9/11 attacks],’ Tapper asks, ‘how do you then make the jump that President Obama and Secretary Clinton are responsible for what happened at Benghazi?’ Bush’s response is almost physically painful to watch.”)
• Trump triples down on George W. Bush’s responsibility for 9/11
• Another Bad Day for the Benghazi Committee (The fact that this committee even exists at this point is basically insane. Can you imagine if there had been a Democrat-led Beirut Marine Corps Barracks Bombing Commission years after that attack, still “investigating” Ronald Reagan, George P. Shultz and Cap Weinberger? Of course not.)
• The Republican establishment’s weak tea (“Republicans seem to want a government that would do less for everybody.”)
• Trey Gowdy to GOP colleagues: ‘Shut up’ if you’re not on Benghazi panel (Yeah, you guys are off the Republican message, which is that this whole thing’s not an anti-Hillary Clinton witch hunt.)
• Boehner faces treacherous path to the exits (“A melee is likely if Paul Ryan says no to speaker, and that may postpone John Boehner’s departure from Congress.”)
• Budget talks stall before they even begin
• Krugman: Something Not Rotten in Denmark (“…the Danes get a lot of things right, and in so doing refute just about everything U.S. conservatives say about economics.”)
• Control of the Virginia state Senate comes down to two open seats (Plus the Edwards vs. Dye vs. Caldwell race and possibly a couple others.)
• Records: Governor’s office told ABC not to answer questions about Martese Johnson investigation
• Conservative group targets Sen. John Edwards on energy policy (First off, it’s not a “conservative group,” it’s Americans for Prosperity, a fossil-fuel-funded anti-environment, anti-clean energy, and extreme anti-government group.)
• State hopes for big economic bang as Jeff Lab bids for ion collider
• Roanoke reports strong start to single-stream recycling
• On right path for bicycles (“Piece by piece, Hampton Roads’ cities are building recreational trails that connect neighborhoods and increase opportunities for safe commutes and exercise.”)
