Pistol-packing Virginia State Sen. Amanda Chase (far-right Republican), who apparently has ambitions for higher office, posted the following on her Facebook page. Note that Philip Van Cleave is the “make bang bang” guy (check out this video), who “was duped [by Sacha Baron Cohen] into promoting guns for children as young as 3 and hawking toys such as a teddy bear with a concealed pistol on a television show.” Also note that Van Cleave in 2010 “was pressuring Virginia lawmakers to legalize gun carrying and drinking among non-police officers as well as police officers, so long as they are not drunk while carrying the gun, arguing that ‘We’re not allowed to drink, but they can. That’s two classes of citizens.'” Van Cleave believes that “open access to guns guarantees that individual Americans have the right to defend themselves and, as he put it in 2004, ‘to take back your country should it ever become a totalitarian state.””

“Great turn out last night for the VCDL (Virginia Civil Defense League) membership meeting. A huge thank you to Philip Van Cleave president of VCDL for inviting me to come and speak at tonight’s membership meeting. What a great group who believe in our constitution and rights as Americans”
