Note that, in addition to being the right thing to do, the ERA is wildly popular in Virginia, with Virginia voters supporting ratification by a massive 76%-12% margin. So how on earth has the Virginia General Assembly managed to *not* ratify the ERA? Very simple: Republican legislators like these folks – all of whom can and should be voted out of office in just 21 days!
Oh, and one more point: it’s not just that Republicans oppose ERA ratification, but that they stand in the way of progressive on pretty much *every single issue* you care about, from action on the climate crisis to gun violence prevention to providing high-quality and affordable health care to all Virginians to raising the minimum wage and helping change the fact that Virginia currently ranks #51 in the country (!) for workers – behind Alabama and Mississippi.
