As Virginians once again brace for a GOP-manufactured government shutdown, Jen Kiggans and her extreme House Republican colleagues are prepared to defund critical Amtrak infrastructure in Virginia and across the nation as part of the ongoing House Appropriations process.

Jen Kiggans and her far-right colleagues continue to insert extreme policy riders into spending bills that hurt everyday Virginians. If she votes for the Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development spending bill this week, Kiggans is poised to slash funding to Amtrak by 64% – threatening thousands of union jobs and making commute times longer for Coastal Virginians.
While House Republicans continue to play politics with our nation’s crumbling infrastructure, this morning, the Biden administration announced investments to help rebuild Virginia’s rail systems thanks to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
