See below for some of the bad sh*t Florida’s far-right, Trumpist, authoritarian Governor Ron DeSantis – the guy about whom Glenn Youngkin said “I think Governor DeSantis has done a lot of really impressive things to lead and this is where I look to lead as governor” – has been up to recently. To put it mildly, it hasn’t been a pretty picture. Also note that Youngkin’s done some VERY DeSantis-like things as governor of Virginia, including waging war on public education; assaulting diversity and equity; starting up a Stasi-like, authoritarian “tip line” to intimidate teachers; appointing extremists (see here, here, here, here, etc.) to his administration; railing against the “cancel culture” bogeyman (at Liberty U, no less); you name it. So, as usual, the lesson here is that when somebody TELLS YOU, over and over again, who they are and what they intend to do if given the power to make it happen, you should BELIEVE THEM and vote accordingly! (of course, the media whitewashing extremists by pretending they’re “moderates” or “6 foot 5 mystery dates,” that’s a huge problem too)
